Playing with Piggy

Little Miss Sleepyhead slept most of the day, but woke up right before I started to cook dinner. Poor baby still didn’t feel good, so I fed her a bottle then sat her in her “high chair” to watch me cook. I put one of her toys right in front of her and my little sweetie stared at it the whole time. Lu was even coo’ing at the little pig and trying to tell her about all of her struggles lately. So sweet.

As you can see . . . Piggy wore our baby girl OUT. She went right to sleep once dinner was done. :)

So Content

Everyone is so amazed by our baby girl – because she is the most content baby ever! She is perfectly fine with laying down and enjoying the scenery. She likes to do her own thing. :)

She Makes Me So Happy

A Sick, but Happy Weekend.

I work every weekday, but Jimmy gets a few days off here and there – giving him the joy of getting to stay home with Ellie a lot. On days that he isn’t off, she stays with Becki Duncan. Ellie is lucky to have so many people in her life that LOVE spending the days with her. I’ve always loved weekends, but now it is for a different reason. Weekends are the time where I get to spend every minute of the day with her. It’s the best. Ellie thinks so, too . . . .

But this weekend, Ellie has been sick. She’s had a runny nose all week, but after Thursday night, she began to develop a bad cough. Her congestion continued to get worse and worse, so Saturday morning I called the Health Hotline for Capital Region. After listing her symptoms and the nurse on the line heard Ellie coughing in the background, she advised me to bring her in and get her checked out.

DSCN2391

DSCN2392 They monitored her heart rate, and watched over her for an hour or so. Ultimately, they ended up sending us home without medicine. :( They told us to bring her back if she stopped eating completely or if she wasn’t wetting her diapers. Fantastic. Now I have a sick little baby – coughing up a lung every few minutes . . . . and getting so mad at her momma every hour when I put saline drops in her nose and suck out the gook with a bulb syringe – as instructed by those mean old doctors. And they wouldn’t give her anything to make her feel better.

It really breaks my heart because she’s in a fairly good mood sometimes throughout the day – she smiles and coo’s. But the coo’s are raspy little ones, and usually the smiles are followed by some soft moans.

This is what she thinks:

DSCN2388 I love weekends.

DSCN2384 Mommy and Daddy get lots of time to play with me.

DSCN2386 I just wish I wasn’t sick . . . DSCN2387Even though I sound awful and my nose is so runny, I give my Mommy and Daddy lots of smiles like these so they won’t have to worry too much.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa George

Last weekend, we all got together to celebrate Grandpa George’s Birthday. We had a great lunch at Aunt Becky’s, then Ellie and I watched TV and played while the rest of the family played cards – one of their favorite things to do when we all get together.

COUSINS

A couple weeks ago, Ellie went to Grandma Ronda’s and Grandpa Rodney’s to visit her cousins. Grace, Lydia, Keri, Carol and Anita came down from Jeff City to go sledding at Grandma & Grandpa’s. Rance, Rita, and Steve made the trek up the road to join in on the fun and so did Uncle Jesse and Grandpa Kent. Ellie and I stayed inside with Grandma where it was nice and warm, but everyone else seemed to have a great time! Grandpa Kent made a track with the tractor, then they all took turns driving the Polaris and pulling the sleds. They all had so much fun!

DSCN2165 When Grace came inside from sledding, she went straight to wash her hands so she could hold Ellie. She was like a little Momma, she did very good with her! But when it was time to change a diaper, she was quick to hand her over to me. :) Rance was a busy bee – not too much more interested in Ellie than usual, but little Lydia was very intrigued by her. She kept saying “baby,” and touching her little feet, arms, and cheeks. I think it’s safe to say they love their new little cousin.

Horrible Parents

Jimmy and I were talking tonight and realized we forgot our baby’s birthday. Kobe turned a year old on the 15th. We are horrible parents. No worries, though . . . . we don’t think Kobe remembered either. So we will just pretend it’s tomorrow and give him a special day. :) Happy Birthday, Kobe . . . we love you!

DSCN2348 we saw a lot of this fussy face that night.

2 Months Old

This past Wednesday, our sweet angel turned two months old. It is so hard for me to believe how fast she is growing. Kind of sad actually . . . . Her personality is developing rapidly. Her Nana and Papa say she is sassy – even more so than her Momma was, which is a tad hard to believe. :) Call me crazy, but I think she’s perfect.
Some exciting happenings for Lu at one month:
  • She slept through the night for the first time. On January 28th, she slept from 9:30 to 6 in the morning.
  • She went to her first basketball game to watch Uncle Jesse for his birthday.
  • She went to her first Belle High School Homecoming.
  • She watched her first Superbowl.

Little Valentine

Jimmy stayed home and watched our little Valentine today. Poor baby has her first cold :( When I got home from work, we put on her Valentine’s Dress right away . . . another gift from Auntie Claire. She looked so precious. I loved spending this day with my little love bug. Jimmy and I both look forward to the many more to come.

Our Weekend

Ellie had a very busy weekend . . . The weather is much nicer so we have been able to get out a bit more. :)

DSCN2221

DSCN2222 Robin came to visit . . .

DSCN2223 Ellie was glad to see her . . .

DSCN2226 She LOVED the bright colors Mollie wore to dance in.

DSCN2230

DSCN2232 She’s the only baby who LOVES diaper changes.

DSCN2237 She told Robin about her busy week.

DSCN2241 Saturday we went to four, yes four, basketball games. First, we went to Lexi’s game, then went to watch Daddy referee at the high school at a 4th grade boys/girls tournament, then we went to Jasmine’s ball game. Ellie took lots of notes. :)
