memorial day weekend '12

hope everyone had a great weekend . . . we sure did. i got a little sunburn and ellie is lookin' pretty good with her sunkissed tan.....

i told her thursday night what was in store for her weekend
.....and she was all....

"yeeee, mom!"

i went and bought some new towels for our weekend in the water.
just in case you don't know, ellie's nana has a serious problem with using bleach. she uses way too much. when i was young, i never had the joy of using bright beach towels because *someone* thought they could only be truly cleaned if they were soaked in a half a gallon of bleach each wash.
soooo, i vowed to never rob by child of this bliss. bright beach towels are the best part of summer. ;)

she likes them.

on saturday, we went to our friends, sarah and anthony reams' baby reveal...and found out they are having a GIRL! we are so excited - especially ellie. she can't wait to meet her new bff.
^^ sorry about the front facing camera blurry iphone pic. it's still cute.

the expecting couple.
anthony was mouthing me to hurry and take the picture - so his eyes are closed.
serves him right ;)

ellie and i in our coordinating pink - - - can you tell we were hoping for a girl?

we came home to test out this kiddy pool grandma glenda gave to ellie for christmas.
obviously a hit....

someone's been watching her momma do workout videos! (like once a month)

this is becoming a regular sight. ellie and her dad love to reenact the scene from dirty dancing . . . with the lift - you all know what i'm talking about.

sunday we woke up early and went swimming at the maples' pool. we missed auntie claire the whole time.

haha look at her! mollie if you take a picture, i swear i will beat you.
((((i dont know why my nose looks so huge here - oh, hey maybe because it is. :-/ ))))

struttin'

she was tuckered afterward....

on monday she stayed with her nana and granny while i went floating on the good ol' gasconade.

it was decided that she is only allowed to wear dresses from now on . . . . since she wears them SO well.

we hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as we did :)

a whole lot of beans.

it's about to get all KINDS of random in this place. i have lots of pictures you all need to see, so sit back and enjoy the show.

someone had her first ring pop.
eating it outside was a must - as was lulu being topless.

ohhh, among other firsts, ellie also started wearing a baltic amber teething necklace. please read about them here before you tell me it is not a good idea to put a necklace on a toddler. although most of my mom friends that use these for their children choose not to, we take ellie's off before bedtime.

here's a good idea .... teach your kiddo how to make a whip sound --- you know, "wah-pshhh!" --- and give them a belt. HILARIOUS. beanie only hit herself in the head a few times. well worth it, she thinks. ;)

dorks.

we spent a lot of time going to uncle jesse's baseball games this spring. granny was riled up at this one if you can't tell.

so mischevious

she coaches in her spare time.

justa lil bit of bedhead. it's healthy.

she climbs on EVERYTHING. such a glorious thing . . . not.

oh yeah, she wants a fish. so do i. but i don't want to clean a tank. ick.
hey you! thinking about buying her one for her 2nd birthday....please don't! yes, i'm talking to YOU! :D

struttin in her new suit from auntie claire.

eat rocks...

lovin' on nana at one of uncle jesse's games.

my new favorite picture of my mom and dad. i really wish ellie didn't have cookies on her face.

my kid is the most animated child you will ever meet!

how can i discipline this child with that face?! suggestions?

out to eat on a friday night :)

ok now this is just mean. i bought a jogging stroller. ellie is sooo a fan of strollers, but with this one, everytime i take off running, she covers her eyes!!! my driving scares her! such a sight for drivers who pass by us, I'm sure.

riding in laundry baskets is so fun. especially with auntie claire pushing and foofa enjoying the ride, too.

:)

until next time, players!

mama's day

we had about the most informal mother's day ever last sunday. the day consisted of naps, playing at the park, and snapping some cool pics :)

the dogs take turns guarding ellie . . . no big deal.

me and my favorite girl

the best picture i have ever taken in my life BY FAR.

someone had some static slide hair!

5 ellie's. i can't imagine.

overall, it was a fairly laid-back mother's day. can't say i'd rather have it any other way.

"let's go for a walk"

....this is one phrase jimmy is getting so tired of hearing. remember when i told you guys how much we love living in town? so many possibilities for evening activities. i feel like i have the world at my fingertips ... or at least the park anyway. we walked there last night. beanie LOVES walks, like, adores them. if i say "you want to get your stroller and go on a walk?" she runs to find her shoes. it's the cutest thing ever.

ellie sits up so tall and rests her arms on the front of the stroller. she looks like such a big girl and it kind of makes me a little sad to see how big she is getting. she always turns around and smiles at her dad and me.

the swings are her favorite. they make her laugh and laugh . . .

she really likes this tunnel, too. jim stands on one side, and i sit on the other . . . she crawls back and forth to each edge. she gets so excited! it's like a never ending game of peekaboo!

oh and who could forget the slides? these are a debate with me and jimmy. he hates to let her go down alone. he thinks she is going to suicide dive right off the side or something. the thing is seriously like 5 feet long from him dropping her down - to me down at the bottom. seriously, i don't think she's going anywhere....
and she smiles so much bigger when we let her go down alone without holding onto her. :)

jimmy always complains when i say "let's go for a walk," but i have found when we go to the park . . . and he sees the joy on beanie's face, he just just can't say no and he complains a little less.
obviously, it starts so early. she has him wrapped.
