I love this hat.....

Thank you to Auntie Claire for bringing it to us at the hospital when Beanie was born. It fits perfectly this winter!

Sometime she gets a little testy with me - my camera is CONSTANTLY in her face.

Boots

I made Ellie wear shoes for the first time last night. We have tried them before, and she threw a fit - she's like her Mom. I'm weird about my feet. I hate shoes...more importantly, I hate socks that don't fit right. I don't like the feeling of my toes being confined. Ellie's nana said that I was so difficult to get ready as a child; if my feet didn't feel "right," I wasn't going anywhere. I don't want Ellie to have a foot complex, so after 11 months, I think it's time to start rocking the cute shoes.

She wore these beauties. Aren't they fab? The Honse's gave these to me at my baby shower. I couldn't wait to put them on Ellie. I'm just glad they fit great and by some miracle, she didn't seem to mind them much. Maybe it was the sparkles or leopard print.... I don't know.

Ellie also got to meet one of my really good friends from high school, Ben Strode. Ben was home for Thanksgiving break. Ellie instantly took to him very well.

She was tired, so she put her head on his shoulder to try to go to sleep. She's such a good baby. I'm so thankful that she is so sweet to people and doesn't go into panic mode around new people! ...(yet)

Are They Dry Yet?

Ellie and her Dad decided to watch a movie while waiting for the sheets to dry this weekend. Of course, it was Finding Nemo. Every night at bedtime, we play the movie - she loves it.

Look at that belly - she is starting to fill out a bit more, which makes Papa very happy. He is always forcing food down her throat and telling Momma to feed that baby!

It was different for her this time since she was in my bed and not her own. She was just as attentive!

That is, until she saw me with the camera out....then she started hamming it up, as usual!

Precious Moments

Okay, I'm not just trying to be a good Scentsy consultant and make a sale by saying that Ellie LOVES her Scentsy Buddy. I bought her Lenny the Lamb just before she was born, with the newborn nursery scent pack. Let me tell you, since she was old enough to care, Lenny became her favorite. He is so soft, and she loves to squeeze him tight! It is starting to seem as if she can't fall asleep without him!

Her pouty little lips are becoming my favorite feature.

There is nothing more precious than a sleeping baby.

Happy Birthday, Jasmine!

Yesterday, we celebrated Jimmy's niece's birthday and went out to eat at the Mexican restaurant. Jasmine turned eleven and was showered with some awesome gifts!

(the lighting was kind of poor and I was using my cell phone, so the pictures aren't the greatest quality...sorry, guys!)

Ellie was in a somber mood because she fell asleep on the way to the party. She got about a fifteen minute nap in, then we had to wake her. Towards the end of the evening, she started to liven up.

Trying to get a good picture of both of these two was difficult.

I loved Kerrigan's pigtails!

Kerrigan kept saying, "Don't touch, baby Ellie!" :)

I'd say this one is the best of them both. Aren't they cute?!

This makes me realize how fast they grow! This picture was taken in August by Jimmy's sister, Tiffany. It almost makes me a little sad how fast time flies!

Jimmy's Aunt Monica took some funny pictures of Ellie and her Uncle Mark. She was quite smitten with him - she would rest her head on his shoulder and was very content. When someone would try to take her, she'd hold on tight!

So sweet.

Then all of a sudden, she hits! So mean. She really is a Sour Patch Kid!

Bathing Beauty

Ellie is still loving bath time. I don't really have too much to say about it...the pictures speak for themselves! :)

It was time for Ellie's bath last Sunday, but Uncle Jesse was in the shower after going hunting. Ellie took advantage of the rare opportunity when Nana offered to let her use her tub. (Nana has a problem with sharing, especially when it comes to her bath tub!) Ellie LOVED how big it was. I see more baths in Nana's tub in someone's future! :)

Who could resist this smile?!

Playing with Granny

If you didn't know, Granny Linda sold her house and is building a new one out by us so she can be closer. For now, she moved in with us. She is so much help with Ellie and loves to play with her!

Granny is becoming one of Ellie's favorite people. Seeing her with Ellie reminds me of when I was younger. I was always with my Granny and Papa! They spoiled me rotten! I don't think Ellie will be any different! :)

Don't mind the blurry pictures - she was flying through the air at pretty fast speeds!

Vistitin'

Ellie always has people to visit on the weekends. There is rarely a weekend that we don't make a trip to see someone. All last week she was sick, so we didn't get out of the house much (she even had to stay home from her sitter's a couple days). On Saturday, she showed improvement so we made the trip down the road to see the family.

Mizzou was playing Baylor on Saturday, so Ellie was all decked out for the game. Ellie with her Aunt Monica.

Ellie talking to Grandma Jett

They matched! :) (I may have asked him to wear a Mizzou shirt.)

Playing patty-cake with Grandma Glenda

I can tell by these pictures that she was kind of out of it. Her eyes just look sickly. :(

After visiting, Ellie, Jimmy and I all went to eat Mexican. Ellie had a wardrobe change and slipped into something a little more comfortable.

Doing her stretches

I know I've said it before, but I swear, she always has that look on her face like she knows exactly what is going on....

Next weekend we have a baby shower to go to on Saturday and on Sunday, Ellie's Great Uncle Mike and some cousins are coming to visit. There's always something - never a dull moment! Good thing Ellie likes to travel and socialize! :)

10 Months

Ellie Beans,

You are officially mobile now, which is pretty hard for me to wrap my head around. You crawl everywhere! I cannot keep you in one place for two seconds. Constantly, you are wanting to be down on the floor so you can go explore! The first thing you always go for is the dog food and water. You get going pretty quick, then you stop to turn around and see if I'm watching. If I get up to get you, you take off so quickly!

You're finally starting to pull up on things. I have a feeling you'll be walking in no time. You've started to use a sippy-cup from time to time - usually only at meals. I'm glad you're getting the hang of it. Strangers are starting to look at me funny when you throw your head back with force to take a swig from your bottle.

You are literally into everything. You love testing your boundaries!

You're still a tiny little thing. You can actually still wear 3-6 month clothes. For the most part, we dress you in 9-12, even though they're a little big.

I'd have to say your favorite thing to do is to give hugs. If someone is holding you, and they saw "Aww," you instantly give them a big hug. You're kind of mean, too. You like to hit people - which needs to stop. It's kind of embarrassing that I have to say "Awwwww" for you to be nice.

Your favorite show is still Yo Gabba Gabba. You go into a trance when it comes on. I think you'll like to dance one day, because you seem the most attentive when it's "dancey-dance time."

You are starting to eat so much better. You're not picky with table food; if I'm eating something, you'll eat it, too. Now you're eating baby food without the sad face if it comes from a squeezable pouch. The one problem I have with mealtime is that you LOVE throwing stuff on the floor. You'll learn one day that this is not okay (probably when you're old enough to understand discipline). ;)

Thank you for never letting me down by always smiling at me when I come through a door, holding your arms up so I'll hold you, and giving me those sweet hugs of yours. You make each day so much more pleasant.

Love,
Your Momma

Cool tricks, COOL TRICKS!

Have you ever watched Yo Gabba Gabba? It is Ellie's FAVORITE show...hands down. When it comes on, she gets all excited and starts jumping up and down in her walker (ok she doesn't really "jump," but she bends e knees and straightens them REALLY fast.) Anyway, there's a segment on each episode called "Cool Tricks" where someone - a kid, adult, movie star....they like to switch it up - introduces themselves and shows their cool tricks.

Ellie has a new cool trick. Can you guess what it is?
"Hi, I'm Ellie . . . and I can stand up in my bed!" *Cool tricks, COOL TRICKS!!!*

Ellie and her Dad - I'm loving both of their hair do's.

I'm not crazy about this trick, because when she gets tired, she just plops down and usually hits her head on the other side of her play pen. So we put a pillow in there. I know this is frowned upon, but for the sake of my child's head, I'm doing it .... sue me.
