It almost makes me a little sad that Ellie is growing up so much. She plays with her toys so independently, and really keeps herself entertained. She is growing into such a little lady. :)

Happy Birthday, Auntie Claire!

Okay so this is so long overdue – Claire’s birthday was June 18th! On the 17th, I joined her for a Cardinals game. We had a lot of fun! The next day, we joined her at her Mom’s house for some dessert – a dessert with brownies, oreos, and cookie dough all in one . . . not to mention some ice cream and hot fudge! So good, and so Claire! ;)

Someone got her ears pierced…

She looked so innocent right before it happened – always such a happy baby :)
Aunt Mollie went with us, and refused to take pictures. Which I’m kind of glad, because Beans screamed a lot. But after about a minute, she was completely fine! And looking pretty stylish, I might add. :)

I did kind of freak out . . . because I asked for the little gold balls to be put into her ears – and the lady did little diamonds instead. I wasn’t crazy about them at first because they make her look too old. But I’m getting used to them now.

Jiapers

Yes . . . . I am THAT mom that bought her baby the Huggies denim diapers. I know I will be judged by all that see, but . . . . I. Don’t. Care. Even Nana thinks that they are tacky as all get out – she can’t stand to see them on Lu . . . and lets me know how she feels each time she sees them on the little baby. I’ll let you be the judge of this…….

Baby Hollywood

Someone likes her new sunglasses! They’re a little bit big, but still so cute! :)

This really cracks me up! Ellie kept making kissy faces so she could hold her sunglasses up. Absolutely adorable!

Look at this BABY! She is such a ham for the camera – she knows exactly what it is, and what she is supposed to do while in front of it. (Remember in my previous post when I said that I thought she was really smart?) ;)

Ellie’s First 4th of July

We had a great 4th of July weekend! We pretty much just relaxed . . . . didn’t do anything too extravagant. We did end up going to the fireworks at the Missouri State Capital in Jefferson City. We took a blanket and sat in the grass. It was very relaxing and lots of fun – Ellie loved the fireworks. David and Jana Vandegriff came and joined us for the show. I have a feeling Ellie was enough entertainment to satisfy everyone, but the fireworks made it that much better. :)

6 Months

Baby Girl,

I cannot believe you are already 6 months old! You are amazing me more and more each day. I simply can’t get over how much you are growing and learning as time flies by. You’re constantly grabbing things and studying them – the shape, size, maybe even what they’re used for. :) I know everyone thinks their baby is among the brightest, and I am no exception to that stereotype. I know you are so smart already!

 
We went to your 6 month wellness check up and the doctor said you need to plump up! I told her that you have issues with spoons – you bat them away like they’re going to hurt you. You are so stubborn and it drives me crazy! (I have no idea where you get it!) ;)  She said for us to just be patient with you, that you will come along. We have found that the only thing that works is to feed you with our finger – then you LOVE to eat. Other than that, the appointment went very well (aside from you having to get two shots) :(

Weight: 14 pounds and 3 ounces
Head Circumference: 43 centimeters

You still love watching basketball, but the regular NBA and NCAA seasons are over, so we watch NBA Classics on a pretty regular basis. Your favorite is Michael Jordan, of course. :) We tried to switch to baseball, but you just don’t seem nearly as interested.

 
You still won’t sit up, which is so frustrating for me, because you excel with everything else but you refuse to sit up like a big girl. We use the bumbo seat all the time – trying to strengthen those muscles, but when we try to sit you down, you immediately stiffen up and straighten your legs to lay down. I guess you’ll get it eventually!

Ellie Beans, we love you SO much. Each and every day, we thank God for giving you to us – the most precious gift we could have ever received. We are so happy to have you in our lives.
